The eighth-grade Roughnecks came out on top last Thursday night with a hard-fought win over the Winona Wildcats, 24-22.
Landon Anderson threw for two touchdowns with Sam Dusek on the receiving end of both. Gunner Solis caught another pass from Anderson for another White Oak touchdown.
Gavin Bzdil rushed for a two-point conversion in the second quarter.
“The boys start district play this Thursday,” Coach Steve Gillispie said. “The boys are getting better and better each week and now it’s time for the fun to begin.”
The Roughnecks will travel to Hughes Springs for the first of five district games.
